Supporting UK Veterans of All Ages and their Families

Picture
"In 2001, the MOD formally defined the word 'Veteran' as someone who has served more than one day in the Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force."

The Veterans Charity was founded in 2008 to provide support for the Veterans of the UK armed forces. Our focus is to support ALL Veterans in need of assistance and to ensure that their needs are met as quickly as possible.

The smallest gesture can make a huge difference to someone in recovery from injury or someone in need of support. Modest provisions can be made much quicker and begin to make a difference quicker.

We aim to deliver direct and real impact to the lives of individuals who have served or are serving in the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.

To us, a Veteran is someone who deserves our support. These do not just include current service personnel but veterans of conflicts in Kosovo, Bosnia, Northern Ireland, The Falklands, Borneo, Aden, Korea and of course WWII. Many Veterans are often forgotten and some simply ‘slip through the net’. We want to ensure that ALL Veterans get support whenever they need it – ALWAYS.

Donations are vital! This can make a huge difference in providing support by way of equipment, a christmas hamper, anything that is required to help them and their family. Here are some other ways it can help -

  • £500 could buy a mobility scooter
  • £150 could buy a powered bath lift. This means a disabled veteran can be more independant and not rely on carers, families or friends for something quite personal.
  • £10 can buy a winter duvet to keep a veteran warm in the winter, who is struggling to pay fuel and heating bills.
  • £10 could buy a meal and a change of scenery, when undergoing intensive care and surgery. It's these little things we take for granted that are so uplifting, satisfying for the heart and soul. It helps with recovery.
  • £5 could buy the kit needed for a blind veteran to be able to make themselves a hot drink without scolding themselves.

With YOUR support WE can change Veterans' lives.
