Hunged over from late night caffeine this morning! 3 hours sleep but hey, there was no snoring from Himship! I had a lot of chores to do today and didn't make time for a run. Apologies, tis only me who will suffer. Creative brain in full swing so had to to make sure I got all ideas down onto the website etc. Total focus and getting sponsorship & publicity for Forces march - just as important as a run :0)

Good news is I have found a porridge that likes me..or rather my stomach likes! can now spend the next 2 weeks concerntrating on appropriate training and recovery menus.
bee pollen before breakfast breakfast - 40g porridge with mug full of milk, cup of tea & vitamin/supplements (staple breakfast) lunch - 1 slice of spelt bread with marmite dinner - oven chips with breaded chicken, peas, sweetcorn (no dining table & too busy to cook from scratch)

No, I am not panicing about the race. I had a nice surprise today :0)
Husband snored very loudly most of the night so I was awake from 4am, finally got up at 5am. Read my running mags then thought sod it, lets go for a run now. I had only had a cup of tea & my Bee Pollen. Thought I would just try and run 5km. So, tired, and with out being "fuelled" I did a trail run of 7.24km in 1hr. I had to stop as husband was due out. I felt really good, especially after the aches & pain of yesterday's intensive gardening!
Also proves that Bee Pollen does give you wings too! Went straight out for a dog walk after my run, then straight up to horses after that. The straight into som emore gardening. So didn't really eat sensible breakfast & lunch but to be honest I wasn't that hungry til I stopped and relaxed.
breakfast - bee pollen before run; glass of milk and banana after run lunch - 1 slice home made spelt bread toasted with a little marmite dinner - full roast chicken with a couple of roast spuds (in olive oil), peas, sweetcorn, runner beans and carrots. Navel orange for pud treats - turkish delight and packet of chilli crisps
another day of intensive gardening after a run and dog walk. Suffered complete thumb lock/cramp so then did a lot of stretching in bath for that and rest of the body. Think a sledge hammer has bashed me about a bit today!
Now thinking about what to do tomorrow for some cross training
Oh boy! No point beating myself up but... - Weight now up to 14st 3lbs
- Feel heavy and unfit
- 14 days until Pangbourne 10km and I havent had decent run for 3 weeks
Plus side- I have THE "holiday photo" of me in the swimsuit that has shamed me into action!
- I have the wonderful Gareth to train me.
- I have got a grip on the wheat issue so can now focus on positive healthy foods
- I am now inspired to cook from scratch again
- I am focused on the big picture not just feeling the pressure of imminent 10km
- I am getting some advice from a Nutrionalist plus using bee pollen
- I am strong, healthy and passionate about helping those with fibromyalgia and Veterans Charity - my 2 charities

I met with Gareth France, a personal trainer, today.
We had a long chat about he can help me with all my training needs to insure I have an injury free training journey from my current ability to run a slow 5k to being able to run 5 marathons in 5 days.
I will also be meeting his Nutrionalist who will help me put together some wheat & nut free menus to insure I eat adequately for refueling and repairing the body. This is a new area for me to come to terms with as I have always relied on pasta, bread and nuts as basic essentials but it is now no longer an option and I am finding it hard to work the magic on my own in my kitchen and shopping list.
I have realised I have taken on a mammoth task to get me ready for one marathon, let alone five in five consecutive, so I have sensibly enlisted the help of a personal trainer.
In his own words ...
Why use a Personal Trainer? It's a common misconception that personal trainers are for celebrities and the extremely well-off. In fact, many people use a personal trainer to help them get motivated in their exercise regime and, equally as important, stay motivated.
A personal trainer is that it is exactly that - personal! You can expect to have a well-balanced fitness programme designed specifically for you, tailored to your goals. And of course, a personal trainer can fit in with your lifestyle. Sessions can be taken when it suits you - whether that's when the cock crows or the moon is high! And a mobile trainer will come to you - whether that's at your home, a local park or an open gym - or even your place of work.
Watch this space! we shall be the A-team when I return from holiday! with only 10 days left for the Pangbourne 10km!
I shall suspend writing until 31.8.11 so that I don't impinge upon family holiday and my time off. I shall spend the time wisely learning some sensible wheat/nut free recipes perfect for refueling and losing weight. I shall be doing a lot of walking and a little running. I also have a lot reading material about running, plus a backlog of Runners World Mags. Happy Quacks holidays to you all!

Oh boy what a day! So much for my much anticipated lie in! Old dog Guinness had to go to vets to have his ear drained..then had to rush him back in the evening! Found out an old neighbour died in his sleep. he was salt of the earth sort, and fit as a fiddle. he left his 2 young dogs, who attracted attention with their howls. Police called, who sadly found ol Bob in his bed, who had died peacefully in his sleep. We are all rallying aorund to help with working of the girls; hopefully they do have a home together in the area. I shall help the old couple who have adopted them with their walks. meanwhile, back at the ranch, helped daughter with her Pesky Pony. Daughter and Pony finally had a very successful session together, in perfect harmony. yay! I also had a fab day, with no training, total rest, and making new friends. How I love twitter, facebook and all other friend making medium on the tinternet :0) I am now fully wheat/nut free and found lots of delicious treats to compensate for not being able to eat biscuits and cakes. Mostly flavoured ricecakes, cheese, turkish delight and chocoalte :0) All in moderation of course!
Feeling bloomin marvelous, World!

Can't tolerate anything too acidic yet so not having any fruit other than bananas.
breakfast - banana, yoghurt & cup of tea lunch - rice crackers with hummus dinner - gourmet burger, oven chips, peas n sweetcorn
snacks - chocolate rice cake, meringue (no filling), small bag jelly beans (I dont usually succumb to sweets but felt so much better after)
